Summer run, Budgie Run!

26/09/2010

First, what is a budgie or a budgie smuggler? It is an Australian slang for men’s tight-fitting Speedo-style swimwear. The ‘lump in the front’ apparently resembles a budgie when it is stuffed down the front of someone’s shorts. err!  Anyway, Manal Garcia and her friend Jo Williamson is organizing a run only in your budgies/cossies!

This as a fundraising/charity event for Jo’s Son who have Crohn’s Disease, chronic and debilitating condition that causes inflammation of the digestive tract.

Since every year in December the Sydney Strider boys run the bay in their Speedos – some wearing a santa hat & decorations for a change, this year the girls are joining them!  What a good way to start the Summer isn’t it?

Manal encourages anyone keen to join this event for a cause, (and good cause for you to do a run!!).

When: 10 December 2010, Friday from 6:30 AM
Where: Assembly Drummoyne Swimming Pool car park area
Donations – $10 each $5 extra if you wear your costume over your running gear.
RSVP at Facebook!
