SMH Half Marathon Registration is now open

I just registered today on the 18th Annual Sydney Morning Herald’s Half Marathon.  This will be on May 17, 2009.

I missed this event last year because the entries were filled up so quickly. Learned that this would be a half with steep hills. The Registration just opened last Monday but my bib is already at 1985. Thinking they start at 1000 for non seeded runners :D.

I will be running under the Woodstock woman’s team. I’m hoping to beat my PB on my Half Marathon. And this would be a month after the if-all-goes-well-in-the-plan-Canberra-marathon.

To those of you who have not registered yet, register now. Online registration is 5AUD cheaper and 20AUD cheaper if you register before March 26.

This event will be dedicated to Kerryn McCann a four-time champion athlete who lost her battle with cancer in December and will be sponsored by the First Colonial State.  Aside from that a newly-named Kerryn McCann Trophy for the woman’s winner will be awarded and a good opportunity to offer your support for Breast Cancer Network Australia.

Let’s see who beats the time of Martin Dent at 65:00 minutes from last year’s record.
